Tammy Reese: For those who do not know, who is DemiLo?

DemiLo: Demi Lo is a 17-year-old singer, songwriter, and actress from Memphis,
Tennessee.

Tammy Reese: What inspired you to get into the music industry?

DemiLo: My parents definitely inspired me. I have a very musical family, my dad used to be in a singing group when he was around my age, my mom can sing, my sister played the violin, and my brother raps, he can also play the drums.

When I was little I loved to sing at school, around the house, and in church. My parents talked to me one day and were like “Why don’t you take this seriously?” So here I am now, making my dream come true.

Tammy Reese: What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?

DemiLo: I enjoy writing my songs and going into the studio to record them. I just love
putting my music out there and seeing people react to it. It just makes me feel good and inspired to write and record more music.

Tammy Reese: What are some memorable moments in your career so far?

DemiLo: My most memorable moments were with this organization called “Heal The Hood”. Before covid hit, we had a 97 day tour where we would go to schools around Memphis and perform for at risk kids.

It’s basically teaching kids to find their talent, how to be confident in themselves, and that there’s more to life than gangs, drugs, and violence. What made it memorable was the way the kids responded to our talents, they were very supportive and loved to participate with us.

Tammy Reese: What are you currently working on?

DemiLo: I’m currently working on promoting my latest song “I’m Ready” and I’m working
on my new song called “I love you” which I am very proud of and I hope you all will listen and enjoy it when it releases eventually.

Tammy Reese: How are you celebrating Women’s History Month?

DemiLo: I’m celebrating by creating more music and watching performances of my favorite
artists who are women.

Tammy Reese: Who are some women that inspired you in your career?

DemiLo: Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, and Summer Walker. They all have powerful
voices and they know how to work a stage which I admire so much. I look up to these women and I will love to collaborate with them one day.

Tammy Reese: What else can we be on the lookout for from you?

DemiLo: Definitely new music and hopefully when covid is gone, I will be able to have
performances and perform around the world. I have a lot of new songs that I’ve written and I can’t wait to get in the studio and record.

Tammy Reese: What advice would you have for anyone who would like to follow your career
path?

DemiLo: To stay dedicated to your art and to never give up on your dreams no
matter how long it might take.
