Radio Personality DJKY Manifested 6k In Sales A Month With 5 Business Locations in Under 2 Years During Covid Pandemic

DJKY has been through it all from being a regular DJ to a radio DJ and personality for Radio One Cleveland, OH, going on tour, and DJKY is now an avid investor in Hospitality and Nightlife. I will post more information below, and we hope that you consider DJKY a great fit for your next feature

Kyler Smith, professionally known as DJKY, career started off in high school, when he took up DJing at age 17. Experiencing great success, Kyler grew to a level where he organized numerous parties for thousands of high school students. At such a young age, he was curating events in ways never imagined in the city of Cleveland. At the age of 21 Kyler, attracted much attention to his brand by organizing college parties. These parties were heavily attended by top celebrities in the country. Now 21, working as a college DJ, Kyler’s brand rocketed when he brought two famous artists to Cleveland. This proved to be his big break, as he went on to feature as a DJ for Sway in the Morning and Hip Hop Nation. He was also featured in the MGK tour. In the years that followed, turning 24, Kyler was already the youngest radio DJ and on-air personality for Radio One, Cleveland. This opportunity propelled him to feature in three different markets.

In August 2019, he opened a restaurant called The Sauce Boiling Seafood Express; a restaurant that provided boiling seafood bags. In his words, “I thought it would be cool to have boiling seafood bags as an express like Chipotle.”Although Kyler had no prior experience as a chef or restaurant owner, he successfully created quality concepts, menus, and recipes on his own. Admired for its variety of sauces, The Sauce BSE grew even bigger, with many world celebrities stopping at the restaurant to grab a bite.  Kyler’s brand only grew further, as he opened up five more sauce locations in just a year and a half; with three of these nested in Cleveland, Ohio.

During the COVID pandemic, Kyler made 6 figures in sales a month. This was his ideal path into full-time hospitality, a role he had always admired after severe manifestation.

Fully focused on providing hospitality and delivering great customer service, Kyler is now changing the urban entertainment scene and influencing the nightlife in Cleveland. He plans to bolster his restaurant options by launching Filter, later this year. This restaurant, Filter, will serve as an upscale restaurant, designed for hospitality purposes, where customers can enjoy hanging out and can take quality pictures to post on social media. Kyler also plans to launch a lounge downtown Cleveland, later this year, which, he believes, will serve as an entertainment pivot in Cleveland. Kyler’s ultimate goal is to uphold black excellence in his city, by effectively merging biracial crowds into the nightlife space of Cleveland; a concept easily overlooked in the city.

Hustle and Soul Magazine got an exclusive interview with DJKY.

What sparked your interest to become a DJ?

DJKY: What sparked me to become a DJ is one day I was in school and this girl told me I looked like I could be a DJ so I started visualizing myself DJing my high school dances and after that, it became apart of me.

What do you enjoy most about DJing?

DJKY: The best thing I enjoy about being a DJ is touching people through the music and creating vibes.

What are some memorable moments in your career so far?

DJKY: The most memorable moments thus far have been doing a commercial with Lebron James for Audemars Piguet.

What type of experience would visitors take part in at your restaurant Sauce Boiling Seafood Express?

DJKY: The experience I would hope for people to take part in is just the overall experience. The food, the taste, and just knowing that it’s a one-of-a-kind experience.

What else are you currently working on?

DJKY: I’m working on transitioning into the hospitality aspects. I have Filter on the way which is a visual dining and experience restaurant as well as expanding The Sauce Boiling Seafood Express.

What impact do you intend to make on the world as you continue to thrive with your career?

DJKY: The most important impact I want to make on the world would be to just continue the legacy. Showing people that as a black man from Cleveland anything is possible if you work hard if you believe in your vision.
