Music Artist Spotlight: John “Tc7” Carter, CEO of Westrockent
Hello, my name is John “Tc7” Carter. I am The CEO of Westrockent. I was born in Puerto Rico, and soon after my family and I resettled in Syracuse, NY.
I was first drawn to doing music when I heard the song “One More Chance” by The Notorious B.I.G. The piano sample was crazy to me. It was like something I never heard before. After that, I just started to hear a lot of good music and found the sounds that make the whole beat bounce.
My biggest influences would have to be Jay Z, Kanye West, Pharrell, J Cole, and Missy Elliot. One day I would love to work with them all that’s one of my goals right there.
Another goal is to make my company Westrockent the Def Jam of Syracuse with many great acts from different music genres.
What does music mean to you?
John “Tc7” Carter: I’ve always loved music and hope one day the world would love my music too. We are the other guys and we know the difference.
Music To Me is a way to experience what you’re going through, what you feel, and what you see.
It’s an art that showcases the story behind the artist, a light in a world ready to shine.
