Maybe a Mental Detox?

Have you tried mental detoxes? Do you even know what it is? Many people aren’t aware of detoxes apart from the body. But just as your body needs a detox from here and there, so does your mind. We take on so much toxicity throughout our day. And even with a good mental filter system, something always latches on. Negative thoughts that we nurture, whether they came from us or others, can affect our mood and social interactions. The more we allow it to go unchecked it can then overwhelm us and consume our minds with dark thoughts. This is when a mental detox comes in handy. The great thing about mental detoxes is you can do it as often as you need. There are no limits!

Mental Freedom Coach Aarionna Hamilton is an advocate for mental detoxes. Within her coaching programs, she walks her clients through active and effective mental detoxes that encourage such a release for them to continue at ease in the development and growth of one’s character (because we’re all still developing). She has clients write out all of the negative thoughts that have been plaguing them on paper or sticky notes. But writing it out is not enough, so Hamilton has them acknowledge it, address it, and feel it then rip it up and replace those negative thoughts with positive thoughts. The only way a mental detox can work is if you are willing to replace it with positive thoughts that can change your life.

I partook in the mental detox and even did another one over this past weekend and when I tell you that I feel light, believe me. Mental detoxes aren’t pretty but they are necessary. A healthy mind leads a healthy life. So if you’ve been feeling groggy and drained, consider a detox for the mind.
