Jillian Anderson Keeps Women’s Safety In Mind With First Female-Friendly Rideshare App,HERide

HERide, owned by Jillian Anderson is the first female-friendly rideshare app. HERide is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

After years of research concerning the alarming rate of sexual assault cases found within public reports of industry competitors, Jillian decided to take action and develop a business model with women’s safety in mind. The app is taking off rapidly with over 25,000 app downloads and 12,000 driver applications submitted.

Jillian wants young women that look like her to be able to believe that they can do the same things she’s doing. To the world, Jillian wants to be known as a business owner that worked to solve real-world problems with real solutions.

Please tell us about HERide and how it came out?

HERide was founded in September 2019. We are a female-friendly rideshare app that wants to be an alternative option for women in the rideshare industry. After being a former rideshare driver for other companies I decided to develop one that catered to women.

How has business been?

The business has been great. We went live on 3/9/2021 and the requests have been nonstop since! We average around 40 booking requests a day.

What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur?

I enjoy the fact that I have to hold myself accountable throughout the entire process. If we fail it is because of something I did not complete or follow through with and as a lifelong athlete, I’ve adopted a mentality and work ethic that does not foster failure.

What else would you like our readers to know about you and the work that you do?

I graduated from an HBCU Albany State University where I played 3 sports on scholarship (track, volleyball, and basketball). I enjoy spending my free time playing basketball or flying my DJI drone.

What does the rest of 2022 look like for you?

It looks like a secured funding round is completed and 100% focus on driver recruitment and retention.

What advice would you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

If you believe in your brand, trademark it. You must be willing to learn every job within your business. When it’s all said and done do you want to leave a legacy or a memory?
