Owned by Camillya Masunda and inspired by her Congolese roots, Ebony Wine & Spirits was created to celebrate the history and heritage of vast black cultures around the globe within all of the uniqueness that they embody and represent.

Tammy Reese: What is it like being a wine industry entrepreneur?

Camillya Masunda: It’s like when you first start driving you are a little nervous eager and excited, you are still learning. The more you drive the better you are and in this industry it’s the same you are consistently learning and developing as an entrepreneur.

Tammy Reese: How has business been during the pandemic?

Camillya Masunda: Our business blossomed during the pandemic. We were supposed to launch before and we could have let this hold us back but instead, we let it push us and we were received very well with open arms our supporters. We are thankful and we believe our message in the wine is what made people support.

Tammy Reese: What sets Ebony Wine & Spirits apart from other wine brands?

Camillya Masunda: Ebony is truly set apart by its vision and it’s mission to celebrate black culture from around the world to unite people around the globe as we celebrate its rich history and uniqueness ultimately making Ebony a cultural celebration for all.

Tammy Reese: What is it like working with family as a family based team?

Camillya Masunda: It’s amazing I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way. I have a great team and support system who understands the vision and they give great insight on different issues and having creatives around me within me my business is the best part 

Tammy Reese: What are some of your future goals with the business?

Camillya Masunda: A few of my goals are to continue to spread our word of what our business is truly about within the celebration of unity and culture. Another is to bring our first spirits to the public & expand our wine into the international markets

Tammy Reese: What advice would you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Camillya Masunda: My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs would be to walk in your purpose and to be relentless in your quest to pursue your dreams.
