Hustle and Soul Magazine got an exclusive interview with Ryan.

Tammy Reese: Please share with our readers some insightful tips on budgeting during the pandemic?

Ryan Akers: Simple but straight to the point, Evaluate your income & write a list of expenses (Necessary Items) Rent/ Mortage etc versus the wants that you spend money on. From there you will see pretty easily how much is left. Be honest with yourself and normally just from this one exercise, you can see how much you are truly over spending. Then write down how you plan on cutting back. There are also a lot of budgeting apps now that work with every phone and it will help keep you accountable.

Tammy Reese: For those who aren’t familiar with anything surrounding credit, what would you say to them?

Ryan Akers: Credit if used correctly can be your best friend. They say Credit is Power but we must learn to stay under 30 percent utilization & paying our bills on time will also allow us to gain positive points on a monthly basis. Learning these simple tips early on in our credit life can help set us up for Purchasing power, buying power and becoming bankable for Business & Personal Bank Loans and Credit Cards.

Tammy Reese: What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

Ryan Akers: Truly, the thing that inspired me to become an entrepreneur was the ideal of working for another person for the rest of my life. My parents were both hard-working people and I commend them for showing us that however, I felt like if I worked that hard for myself I could be a millionaire and change the way my family was positioned in the future.

What I mean by that is, to truly leave a legacy that is more than words, we must be able to pass something down. Other races do it but not so much in the black community. I wanted to be that trendsetter for my family in that regard.

Tammy Reese: What do you love most about the work that you do?

Ryan Akers: The thing that I love most about the work that I do and the companies I run is the fact each business I have, helps people. Nothing satisfies me more than knowing that I was able to assist someone or something in a positive way.

Tammy Reese: What impact do you intend to make with your book Powerful Entrepreneur?

Ryan Akers: I really hope to help motivate & push people to become the best versions of themselves. My book the Powerful Entrepreneur is somewhat of a guide in helping those individuals understand what it takes to become just that, a Powerful Entrepreneur.

Tammy Reese: What else are you currently working on?

Ryan Akers: I am currently working on growing and expanding my Trucking business while also helping to push our new company, AYG (Accept Your Greatness) Insurance and Financial Services. For me providing other people with the opportunity to leave the corporate plantation and start building their legacy through helping others while establishing their entrepreneurship.

Tammy Reese: Any advice for those who are about to file their taxes?

Ryan Akers: The best advice I could give anyone is to get with someone who is knowledgeable about the new tax laws that are coming out weekly if not daily this year. So many different breaks for those who work for themselves & even those attending higher education.

Reading is fundamental so please read up on things that you may not know. This is solely for the purpose of not getting taken advantage of. If you know better, you will do better or at least you should lol.

Tammy Reese: What can we expect from your upcoming tv show Morals?

Ryan Akers: My M.O.R.A.L.’s tv show has a lot coming this late spring-early summer. The aim of the show is to enlighten our community on the power we have by spotlighting some phenomenal business owners, entertainers, teachers/ professors, athletes, lawyers, doctors, etc.

Not only just speaking to them on their successes but also on the challenges that they faced along the way. I believe that most of the time we only discuss the highlights but it is very important to know a person’s struggle as well. This will allow us to keep the human factor while looking at someone that we think is above personal challenges. All of this and more from my perspective of course lol so stay tuned.

Tammy Reese: What else can we be on the lookout for from you?

Ryan Akers: Well this year is already in the 2nd qtr, man how time flies, lol… But be on the lookout for a young R&B artist that I manage who is currently on my Record label RYDA Entertainment (Leigha Gabrielle) as well as a few business collabs this summer and a liquor company that I am helping to launch. 2021 should be a great year.
