Meet IAMSYDNEYB! As one of the most innovative and creative artists to emerge from Atlanta, Georgia, fresh pop darling Sydney B has an unrivaled understanding of human nature. The 16-year-old singer/songwriter is creating rare and timeless music that captures life’s emotion in a way few artists have mastered. As a writer, Sydney B. is gifted at creating songs that are relatable to her fans and resonate deeply. Undoubtedly, her music stands out because she always puts her own optimistic spin on things, whether it’s writing for her fans about pursuing happiness, heartbreak, loyalty, or just hanging out with her girls.

At Hustle and Soul Magazine we are here to celebrate your influential and inspirational career along with getting to know more about the Hustle and Soul it took to get to this point in your career. What did it take to get to where you are today?

Sydney B: It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. The most important thing is just believing in myself, which can also be the hardest part at times. You’ve got to really love what you’re doing. Without my passion for music, I don’t think I would get anywhere.

Your music is getting rave reviews and you’re constantly being titled as one of Atlanta, GA’s brightest and most innovative young pop artists. What has the music scene in Atlanta been like for you?

Sydney B: At first, it was a bit intimidating to interact with such talented and influential people. I still get nervous at times, but I love how much I’m learning from many of the music industry greats in Atlanta, like my team at Block Entertainment.

Your latest song and music video are now nearing 100K views. What can you tell us about how it came about?

Sydney B: “Beautiful” came about when my collaborator, multi-platinum music producer J-Rell (Musiq Soulchild, Jamie Foxx), asked me what I wanted to write about and what I wanted my message to be. The song has a very specific message about embracing your inner beauty, and how none of us are alone. It’s representative of the struggles I go through as a teenager in this generation, which I know many others can relate to.

What else are you working on these days or we can be on the lookout for?

Sydney B: We have about 12 songs waiting to be released as well as some music videos and new photos! We’re preparing to release a new single shortly, and everyone can go to the link in my IG bio @Iamsydneybofficial to stay tuned and pre-save all my music.

What do you like to do in your spare time and what is a super fun fact about yourself that many people may not be aware of?

Sydney B: In my spare time, I really enjoy theater. I love performing on stage and transforming into other characters and worlds. One fun fact about me is that I play softball, and I actually used to play travel ball.

What advice would you have for aspiring music artists?

Sydney B: The best piece of advice I could give to other aspiring artists is to simply go for it. If you aren’t willing to try, you won’t know the outcome. If someone had asked me a few years ago where I would be today in my music career, I would have had two answers. One is that I’ll be exactly on the path I’m going towards now, with everything working out. The other answer would’ve been more logical, in saying that perhaps this won’t work. I’m so grateful that all the hard work is paying off and the stars keep looking brighter.
