Atlanta DJ Ryan Cameron Hospitalized Following ‘Emergency Surgery’

Ryan Cameron, the legendary Atlanta radio personality, has had unspecified emergency surgery, according to a statement released by the family.
“We are asking for fervent prayers as he recovers from emergency surgery that took place earlier this week,” the family said. “We ask for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your love and concern.”

Cameron, 54, has worked at three stations in Atlanta over the past 30 years: V-103, Hot 97.5/107.9 and currently Majic 107.5/97.5 as an afternoon host. He was inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2014.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Cameron became known as the  “Ryan King.” He was Hot’s first morning show host and spent many years at V-103 as both morning and afternoon host. He has also been the enthusiastic in-game announcer for the Atlanta Hawks for the past 15 years.

Frank Ski, current V-103 morning host, posted on social media Sunday morning asking his fans to “please send a prayer for my friend and Atlanta Radio Legend Ryan Cameron” without  details. Ski’s Facebook note had 788 comments and 247 shares by 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
